Playtime

Mommy caught me playing with Jaden. I felt inspired to sing some ridiculous song to him. Good thing he's too young to remember this!

So peaceful...

The Boy is Hungry!

Hello everyone.

Jaden has now recovered his birth weight and then some. He's now weighed in (as of Monday morning) at 9 lbs. 4 oz. Not bad I'd say. And his cuteness level shot up about 4 points.

And best of all, he's learned how to feed the traditional way!

As a new Dad, it's been interesting finding ways to stay connected with friends whilst not leaving the house. Jamie and I have decided to share our learning and thoughts via shared-blogs. When we're not talking politics here, or defining culture here, we're discussing quantum physics here!

I miss my friends, but family comes first and Jaden's a great excuse for them to come here more often!

Without further delay, some more pictures!

No Mommy, don't let him take my picture!Oh why not? Hi Daddy!

With the cold comes the cold

After only two weeks of life outside the womb, it would seem that Jaden has managed to catch his first cold. He's even had the courtesy of sharing it with his Daddy! Yayyy!!

It's kind of hard to hear the little guy struggle for breath through his little, plugged nose, but he doesn't seem to complain much; at least, not as much as us adults tend to complain ;)

On another note, Magnus and his Mommy have finished their 10-day visit to the Lower-Mainland and are now back in Whitehorse. I took a couple of last-minute shots of him before they had to go.

Now if we could just find a way to get the WHOLE family to visit at Christmas, hmmm....'nuff said. ;o)

Daddy found a way to keep a close eye on Jaden AND be in the kitchen at the same time...

Cara, this one's for you!

Auntie Cara requested more pics with Jaden's eyes open. I took three of him in this position but only one turned out nice. I like bringing out certain colours in pics, and the red was demanding attention this time around! For the plain, boring versions, feel free to use facebook!

The "Baby" Open House

Enjoy

Sunday

Well, it's been a big year -- I've become an Uncle, Godfather and a Father. A couple of days ago, I got irritated by some teenagers who decided to chuck their used pop can on the ground. As my teeth gritted together I suddenly had to laugh at myself for being such an old man. But hey, I have several titles now -- brother, son, husband, godfather, uncle.....that's gotta mean something right?

Of course, I didn't give the full "pop can" story, but as I was discussing with my friend Jamie, I get tired of telling the same story repeatedly; sorry.

Enough chit chat, I know you're all here to see pictures, so here they are...hot off the press...

Video

My wife is itchy and my son is fussy. So here I am at 3 am attempting to post a video. After reducing the file size (slightly) and splitting it into two parts, here's my offering....such as it is....

Part 1

Update...

Well, I finished Jaden's first video but because it's 16 minutes long, I'm going to have to break it into two parts :(

I haven't decided how I will be posting them yet (either through blogger or youtube), but hopefully I'll have them edited and posted soon!

Until then, enjoy this pic of a content baby...

Cousins meet and Grandad's 84th

Jaden met his cousin Magnus tonight for the first time (and by met, we mean sleep).

After singing "happy birthday" to Grandad Burr, Jaden was off for a feed and Magnus to a bath in a giant, inflatable ducky; fun.

I think the best part of the whole night was seeing Grandma and Grandpa Hibbs simply beaming at the sight of an infant-filled home.

Yep, two grandchildren in the span of 4 months....our work here is done.

The Outside World Awaits You....

.....embrace it.

Day 3 of Being Home

A very nice "public health" nurse came by our apartment today and taught us a lot about taking care of our little one. As you'll see in one of the pictures, Daddy was instructed to help pacify Jaden with his finger. Daddy's finger is sore now, but hey, it's worth it.

Today's a big day for the family as Jaden and cousin Magnus will be meeting for the first time. Auntie April has flown down from Whitehorse for a brief visit; we'll be seeing them again (along with uncle Dave) for Christmas.

Enjoy the pics!

As soon as we get video technicalities sorted out, I'll try and post some clips.

Bath Time - Story Time

Daddy got to read his first story to his son -- and just as with Mommy, Jaden's eyes were wide open, taking in all the wonderful colours presented to him on the pages.....Dr. Seuss I might add!

After multiple bouts of Jaden expressing himself with pee, we decided it was bath time; he didn't like it, but don't worry, we didn't throw the baby out with the bath water ;o)

New Beginnings

This is my son; he's beautiful. My life has just changed. After looking in to his eyes for the first time, I already couldn't imagine my life without him.

This will be a "Daddy's" blog about my adventures with my "little squeaker" Jaden, as my wife and I dive in to the realm of parenthood.

For the sake of avoiding the usual sentimental cliches, I'll stop writing now and the let the pictures do the talking....
